Documents for Dangerous Goods Shipping
When dangerous goods are transported by aircraft, the consignment must be attached with a dangerous goods declaration (sometimes called the dangerous goods note), giving the description and nature of the goods. Documentation must be in conformity with the specifications determined by the dangerous goods regulations applicable to the chosen mode of transport.

In actual fact, the shipper must (the person or firm from whom the goods have been received for shipment, e.g. the seller or exporter) provide two copies of a Shipper's Declaration of Dangerous Goods, completed and signed by the shipper.

Shipper's Declaration
- Shipper Declaration has to provide the information on:
a) Description and quantity of dangerous good;
b) Hazards present for safe transport as well as mitigating spills and leaks

- Shipper must keep declaration on file for 375 days, and it must be readily available for any inspector.

- Shipping forms are available from individual carriers, and each carrier has specific requirements on how the form is to be filled out.

- Declaration must include
 ID#, Shipping name, class, packing group (in that order)
 Total quantity of material
 Technical description
 Emergency phone number
 Shipper signature and date
 Transport details (passenger or cargo)
 Whether or not package contains radioactive material

Shipper must label the shipment according to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
