These days we usually receive and get our material things from different places globally. We usually don’t even know that it came halfway around the world before we get in our hands. We never worried about it, of course. This is all done by freight systems all over the world, and one of the most popular is air freight. As a rule air freight is used for business convenience and purposes or intentions.
The dedicated companies are divided into two divisions:
- International Freight Forwarders, which transport goods to other countries
- Domestic Freight Forwarders, which ship goods within one country.
A variety of methods of shipping goods are simplified on your needs. This depends on the importance of the cargo being shipped. Charges will also depend on the value being shipped. The freight is usually measured on gross weight, value which is then sent forth to the carrier’s tariff or rates. This will grant rights to the carrier but will never open the containers or packages. If the particulars are not matching or sent to the wrong address, you will likely pay for the expenses incurred during the examination, measurement of value and the freight charge itself.
As a rule, large shipping airlines use the latest and greatest aircrafts. In addition, lots of them use older models such as the Boeing 727, Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8. Some also use much older models but in that way it implicates replacement and strengthening of parts to be fit for use for cargo services. Also airline freighters which are dedicated to transportation of goods are mostly divisions or subsidiaries of large passenger airlines. |
